We meet in the Ngarunui beach carpark at our red truck and surf trailer.

Your surfboard and wetsuit are provided.

Yes, bookings are essential and can be made directly through our website. Rentals can be booked online as well as casually at the beach carpark

We surf rain and shine - You are going to get wet anyway! Rain is not a hindrance to surfing -some of the best waves are had in the rain. We will only cancel a lesson if the conditions are dangerous.

Short answer is yes!
Surf lessons set you up with the essential safety and knowledge you need while surfing. Whether your a beginner or someone looking to improve your skills our instructors will help you achieve your goals!

There is a 20% non-refundable deposit on all bookings. If you cancel less than 24 hours prior to the start of the lesson the payment is non-refundable.

Is 2 hours enough for a group surf lesson?

Absolutely - we don’t fluff about. We teach you everything you need to know to succeed in your surf lesson and make the most of the practice time in the water. By the end of the two-hour session, most people are knackered.

Cancellation Policy

By making a booking with Raglan Surf School you are agreeing to the following cancellation policy. 

  • There is a 20% non-refundable deposit on all bookings
  • If the cancellation is made less than 24 hours prior to the start of the lesson the payment becomes non-refundable.
  • Transferring your booking date is possible if notified 24 hours prior to lesson start time. This is not guaranteed and based on availability.
  • If Raglan Surf School cancels the surfing lesson due to extreme weather conditions or other circumstances : a full refund or transfer of booking date is offered.
